My Black History Moment

Hi Chocolate Wonder!

Today I want you to know that even failures are wins. Every experience leads us to a new place. For example, do u know how many jobs I've had???

Knife Salesman

Waitress

Cocktail Waitress

Licensed Personal Banker

Appointment Setter for a college

Art Teacher

Records Management Clerk

I could go on but I won't 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Each of these jobs served their purpose at the time. They each taught me something whether I wanted to learn it or not.

Do you know how many businesses I've started???

Faith Based Financial Educator

Cupcake Bakery

Custom Crochet Design

Each one of these businesses made some money.  That's not the full list by the way. I have more. And I also have notebooks full of ideas for more businesses.

As we speak I am a licensed Cosmetologist and Natural Stylist building a brand and a business. Yet here I am writing this newsletter to you, which is in a totally different field.

Does that make me a flake? Does that make me flighty? Maybe. But it also makes me multi-gifted and multi-passionate. That used to scare the crap out of me.

I felt like I would be a starter and never a finisher. It scared me to death to think I would be average when I have so much greatness inside of me. So when I had my kids and they needed so much of me, I became even more worried that now my hopes and dreams would never see the light of day.

Yet here I am with one successful small business and working on another.

Why am I telling you this?

Because I don't want you to be afraid of feeling all the feelings. The good ones, the bad ones, the selfish ones, and the scary ones.

Average happens when you don't explore the extremes.

Our emotions are part of those extremes that need exploring. Don't shut yourself down when you haven't even begun. Don't tell yourself no and all the while you are looking and searching for all the yesses you can find for your child.

Play in your purpose. Start something and if you don't like it, stop. It's okay I promise 🤚🏾🤚🏾

. If you love it, keep going. If you are not sure, then tweak it and try one more time.

Give yourself permission to fail, so you can find where your happy place is. You will succeed in your happy place if you allow yourself to explore long enough to find it.

Lastly, please tell that inner critic to shut up. Tie that chick to a chair and tape her mouth shut. Her portion of the program is over. Your time has come.

You Are The Only You That You’ve Go

Leave perfectionism behind and permit yourself to try. Whether its a business or volunteer project, self-improvement or any other wild idea you may have, have fun as you find your way.

This week’s resource is supposed to be a coloring book printable for you. However last month no one downloaded the free coloring page I put a link to in the newsletter. My feelings are not hurt in the least. Above all, I want this to be a support and a help to you and that includes the free download. So I am back in the lab and I will have another freebie for you in my birthday month, March.

Please share The Upside Weekly with a friend or caregiver that has a special needs child. My goal is to grow this newsletter to 1000 subscribers because we are stronger together,

Stay tuned and see you next Tuesdayyyy!😍😍😍😍
